Using computers and the web

How good are your computer skills? Are you confident surfing on the internet?  

  • You may be reading this on a computer at work or library but we can't stress enough how important it is for people of all ages to both get computer savvy and have their own computers to use at home.
  • Being able to word process documents, create presentations and spreadsheets makes you so much more employable
  • You can use the internet for researching job hunting sites, apply for jobs, find information and advice, train and learn on-line or set up and run a website for your business or hobby - you can take a free tutorial on how to get the most from the surfing the web at Intute.
  • Get friends, your kids or perhaps your local Adult Education College (they will probably run evening courses or have a learn direct facility) to help you get some IT training and steer you in the right direction.
