Description:
The International Coach Federation (ICF) is the largest worldwide resource for business and personal coaches, and a source for those who are seeking a coach. The ICF is a nonprofit, individual membership organization formed by professionals worldwide who practice business and personal coaching. It exists to Build, Support and Preserve the integrity of the coaching profession through programmes and standards supported by the individual membership.

Life coaches can become accredited by the ICF, who have three grades of membership:

  • Associate Certified Coach (ACC) – requires 100 hours’ coaching experience and 60 hours’ training, with a minimum of 10 hours with a mentor coach.
  •  Professional Certified Coach (PCC) – requires 750 hours’ experience and 125 hours' training, with a minimum of 10 hours with a mentor coach.
  •  Master Certified Coach (MCC) – requires 2,500 hours’ experience and 200 hours’ training, with a minimum of 10 hours with a mentor coach.
