A valued partner of newlifenetwork.co.uk, the British Library IP and Business Centre situated close to London's King Cross is a fantastic resource for budding entrepreneurs. Supported by the London Development Agency (LDA), it launched in March 2006 and supports entrepreneurs, inventors and small businesses from that first spark of inspiration to successfully launching and developing a business. Since the launch, over 35,000 entrepreneurs have used the Centre year on year.

The Centre offers free access to the UK's most comprehensive collection of business and intellectual property databases and publications, including general start-up advice, information on funding sources, market research, company data, business news and information on patents, trade marks, registered designs and copyright.  


Anyone can use the British Library,  it's free and all you need is a Reader Pass.  

They also offer:

  • Advice sessions with experts
  • Workshops & events run by our in-house team of British Library experts and partners
  • E-courses on intellectual property
  • Webcasts on various topics making it easy to access expertise remotely
