How socially responsible is your employer?
If it really matters to you how seriously your current or future employer takes it's Corporate Social Responsibilties (CSR) you'll find a few sleuthing tips here.
- Do they have recycling programmes, or energy conservation initatives?
- Do they support a charity or employee volunteering?
- Do they support or practice ethical trading?
- Are they being investigated or pillioried in the press for poor practices in any of these areas?
- Do they support sustainability at every level in the organisation?
- Do they involve customers, employers and stakeholders in their CSR policies and practices?
- Do they have good practice as well as policies on waste reduction?
- Are they just on the green bandwagon, or do they really put their money where their PR mouth is?
You can check out the excellent websites we feature here to discover how socially responsible your employer is, research company websites for any CSR statements or policies, read blogs and conduct searches on the net to build up a picture of an employers' brand promise and reputation.
