acas.gifAcas (Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service) aims to improve organisations and working life through better employment relations. They provide up-to-date information, independent advice, high quality training and work with employers and employees to solve problems and improve performance. If you go on to the site and type in 'redundancy' on the search facility it will bring up all the information you need written in a clear and objective manner. You can call them for advice in confidence, free of charge. It's also very good for other forms of information on employment rights.

They were founded in 1975 and have over 30 years experience of working with people in businesses of every size and sector. They are publicly funded ensuring they are independent, impartial and confidential and governed by a council made up of leading figures from business', unions, independent sectors to academics. There are approximately 830 staff based in 11 main regional centres throughout England, Scotland and Wales with their head office in London.
